Hat's off to Govenor Sarah Palin and her stay-at-home husband. In Alaska they call him "the first dude". This couple brings a magic to the National political scene that words cannot capture. And it is driving the left crazy. Here is an accomplished and tested Govenor who has shown consistent strength as a leader in her state while balancing a large family.
For years the feminists and Democrats have supposedly fought for equal opportunity and equal pay for women. Now they have revealed the only true quality they consider to be essential to be a success in politics: being pro-abortion.
Sarah Palin and her husband examplify what real teamwork in marriage is all about. Each shares in the other's sucesses and failures while working and selflessly loving each other. Together they have sacrificed to step forward and do what many people simply complain about: changing their world through their own service. She brings a great knowledge to the ticket in energy and the environment and Executive experience that has served her home state very well.
The protest from the left are hypocritical and easily answered:
Is she ready to be President?
Of course she is! She has shown tremendous strength in her leadership role as Govenor. 80% approval rating is amazing. Voters are tired of only having the choice of a professional politician with no knowlege of the real world. What is important about any effective leader is that they surround themselves with the best advisors and indepth research team. Then this combined expertise with her own wisdom and knowledge of the issues is ready for rapid response to any crisis. It is assumed by the critics that she is not in the know on foriegn affairs. I do believe that time will reveal something very different. Her good judgement is what is needed. She gets high ratings from home!
I"m concerned that she won't have enough time with her children
This from critics who would be much more comfortable if she had aborted them. If this sexist comment had been said of Hilary Clinton, can you imagine the response? The Palins are a facinating couple in what they have accomplished together in raising their family. We now watch as they gracefully accept an unexpected pregnancy with their daughter. What parent cannot relate to this most difficult moment. It is one we all fear could happen to our own family. The ability to make mistakes crosses all barriers....male, female, young, old, Repubican, Independent, or Democrat. There is no perfect parent and there is no perfect child. It is the way in which a person or family responds to a crisis that reveals their heart and moral code within. This family deserves our prayers, not our criticisms. To hear pundits pile on with no concern of their family privacy is very sad as they seem to rejoice in someone else's difficulty.
She supported Pat Buchanan:
Has anyone checked recently just how many Democrats and Republicans have embraced the issues first raised by Pat Buchanan in the '92 and '96 campaigns? They are numerous. Just look around to anyone who supports strengthening our borders, keeping jobs in America, and the sanctity of human life you will find a Buchanan Brigade without their wearing the pin. This reveals in Sarah Palin foresight and the discerning ability to read the country.
The Palin magic is the exact energy that was needed to revitalize the apathetic voters who are tired of the same old game of politics. And I see moms across America standing up to stand by her and "the first Dude" everywhere she goes.
